  1. Why should I use Gazup!?

    • Gazup! uploads your files to multiple file hosts in one go. Simply by using our service you will save time as our servers are capable of much faster upload speeds than your average home ISP company.
    • You will also save bandwidth, as you'll only need to upload your file once in order to get it uploaded to 8 file hosts, therefore you are saving 7/8th's of your bandwidth. These days more and more ISP's are capping your bandwidth limit per month, charging you overage fee's or simply putting you in the "slow lane" to slow down your connection, however this won't happen as much if you use Gazup!
    • We pay you to upload. That's right, upload files and you'll get rewarded pure cash each month. We also make it more fun by having a top 20 leaderboard. You could easily make hundreds of dollars of side income each month.
    • Our mirror pages are designed with the user in mind. We have file specifications, descriptions, mirror status and links to each mirror, file image uploads, file comments and much more.
    • We also offer a unique service for video uploads, such as if you upload a video our service will automatically screenshot the video. We are the first file host to do this!
    • We clearly tell you if a mirror is down thus saving you time having to visit a dead mirror. We also allow the user to cure broken mirrors with ease thus expanding the lifetime of the file.
    • We have an awesome member service which is 100% free. Keep track of existing uploads (edit, reup, delete, etc). Get alerts when a mirror goes down, if someone comments on your file or when a mirror has finished uploading. View your rewards history and see how much cash you have made and MUCH more.
    • Our service is very unique, we have features NO other site is even capable of doing. Take a look at our competition, you simply can't compare them with us, and this is why you should use our service. So what are you waiting for? Signup today!

  5. Can you add more file hosts, specifically to my requirements/requests?

We are always welcome to suggestions. Please post on our forum located at http://gazup.com/forums/ to suggest us a file host. Please note we can not accept all requests and please only suggest file hosts which are popular and well known..

  6. How long do files exist before they get deleted?

This depends on the file hosts you have uploaded to. Usually it is 90 days with no downloads, but some hosts are 3 days. Please see question 4.

  7. Can I upload files with adult material?

Yes legal adult material is allowed an it must conform to our TOS. You MUST select "18+ file YES" upon upload as failure to do so may result in deletion of your file and if you are a member NO points will be rewarded. Users who upload child porn will be reported to the authorities.

  8. My mirror page is stuck on a certain upload and won't complete, what do I do?

If a mirror is stuck on uploading for sometime, while ALL other mirrors have completed then this mirror is broken and should turn red given time. When it turns red you may reupload the file by using the "reup" file function in your control panel, under "My files". Please note guests can not reupload files and so there is nothing you can do about it unless you are a member.
This happens when there is a fault with the file host and is out of our control.

  9. What is "Add to relational database?" and can anyone see what I have uploaded?

By selecting "Add to relational database" upon upload you are granting us the ability to show your file on other peoples mirror pages when some similarities match. Your file will be shown in the "Files similar to ..." box on selected mirrors. This box matches your uploads file name and description with other members uploads so we can display similar uploaded files with ease.

Please make sure your file is indeed a video format, usually ending in .avi, .wmv, .mkv, .mp4, .flv, .rm, .mpg, .mov. Codecs include xvid, mp4, wmv, h.254, flash video, quicktime video, realmedia video and divx.

  3. I uploaded a video but I didn't get a screenshot overview image?

Most likely your video is less than 24 seconds in duration.

  4. Can I delete generated screenshots and replace them with my own?

Yes just click delete above each thumbnail on the mirror page and you will have a chance to upload your own screens and images yourself. You can also do this in the "Edit file" page in your control panel if you are a member.

  5. Why can't I upload split archives (e.g. .rar files) and have them listed as video specifications?

Our servers would have to extract the archive and then read the video contents. Some archives are also split parts or contain passwords. Simply put its not feasible in terms of server resources and would endure a number of problems.

Managing and customizing your uploads - Expand all

  1. How do I add a description, why should I, and what are the limitations?

You may add a description on the mirror page under the title "Description". By default after uploading the mirror there will be a text input with a yellow background awaiting your description.

If you are a member you may also edit this under the "Edit file" function on the "My files" page in your control panel.

If you are a guest the description will only be editable until 24 hours.

You should write a description to tell potential downloaders about your file. You could insert some instructions, or if its a video perhaps a plot etc. If you have uploaded a passworded archive we suggest you also tell the user what the password is in the description box else you may get complaints.

  2. How do I add images to go alongside my upload, why should I, and what are the limitations?

On the left of your mirror page there will be 4 boxes like this:

    Example image upload

Simply click the box and you'll be presented with an upload screen. The file size limit is 500KB and the image must be a .jpg. You may also edit this under the "Edit file" function on the "My files" page in your control panel if you are a member. Please note for video uploads we will screenshot your video for you, but you may delete and add your own.

If you are a member you may add and delete image as many times as you wish, however if you are a guest you may only do so for 24 hours.

We reccomend you upload images to go alongside your mirrors to give the potential downloaders something visual. If perhaps you are uploading an application, perhaps upload screenshots, if you are uploading photo sets, perhaps some sample photos, etc.

Downloading files - Expand all

  1. I'm on a mirror page but how do I download the file?

Every file page will have a mirror table consisting of the available mirrors. Some may have 1 mirror while some may have up to 8 mirrors, this depends on what the original uploader decided to select. Here is an example of a mirror table:

    Example mirrors

You'll notice the top 7 are green, this means they are available for download, simply select your preferred mirror and click the link to download. The bottom mirror is red, and this means you can not download from this mirror unless the uploader reuploads the file at a later date.

  2. What are the best mirrors to download from?

This all comes down to personal preference. We have made sure all of the available mirror websites we upload to offer a fairly decent download speed so any shouldn't be a problem.

  3. All mirrors are down, is there anyway I can still download the file?

Not unless the original upload reuploads their file. We advise you to leave a comment on their mirror page to alert them of the problem. It is then up to them to upload it again.

  4. How do I know if a file is not a virus?

We do not scan uploaded files for viruses. It is up to you to run an updated Anti-Virus application and make sure your computer has the latest updates. Always be careful with .exe files, or files hidden inside .rar and .zip archives. We recommend Nod32 from http://Eset.com to scan for viruses.

  5. I'm trying to download a file but it has a password, how do I find what the password is?

The uploader may of put the password in the description box at the top of the mirror box. If they didn't then perhaps leave a comment on the mirror page asking the uploader or other downloaders what the password is.

  6. How can I contact the uploader of the file?

We respect peoples privacy and therefore we do not allow you to directly contact the uploader. You may however leave them a comment on the mirror pages.
